Sorry that I haven't blogged yet. I am going to now.
I was really surprised when Cap went home to Garland because I thought that he would end up liking school and stay but I guess when you get tackled by the whole football team and get punched in the nose which is so hard to have to go to the hospital, you wouldn't be in a hurry to go back to that school. On page 146 when Cap told Sophie he was leaving she didn't really understand what he meant so she just thought that he was going somewhere and he would be back, she didn't realize that he would be going forever that is why i think that she said "Don't let the door slap you in the butt on the way out." I think she meant it as a harmless joke but then when she heard that he was going forever she got nicer and helped him pack and etc.
I like how Zach Powers is finally get what he deserves because he was so mean to people. Now people hate him and are mean to HIM. I don't know why everyone thinks that Cap is dead, but i guess they do have something to base that off of. Cap went to the hospital in an ambulance and he never came back to school but i don't think they should be so quick to think the worst thing that could happen. He could have just came back from where he first came from. (which he did)
I think it is good that people are finally stand in up for Cap even though they might be a little late. Better late than never. like on page 166 "but then some of us saw the kind of person Cap was, Some of us appreciate how he devoted his heart and soul to the school."This shows them standing up to Zach.
I think that if Zach had wanted to be popular in a good way not a bad/mean way things would have been different now. He wouldn't be picked on and be getting spit balls thrown at him. He still would be popular. This all happened because he made the wrong decision. When Zach was printing up the Tribute to Cap thing. I think that he didn't really believe his world he just wrote what the public wanted to hear so he could be popular again.
I stopped at page 177 right before chapter 27. I stopped here and predicted what might happen next and i think that Sophie will try and get in contact with Cap so that she can pick him up from Garland and bring him to the Halloween dance so he can get a chance to party for the first time.

P.S. i think that it is weird that we are reading about a school around Halloween time when it is around Halloween time right now in the real world.
Hey Sarah ! Idon't mean to soil the ending to you but sophie did find Cap and went back to the school .And it wasn't a party instead of a party it was a mamoryal for Cap because a lot of people thought he was dead . And it was all pland by Zach and Hugh .It talked about this on page 170 for when Zach and Hugh pland the mamoryal to Cap .Sorry that I spoiled part of the ensing .
ReplyDeleteI don't think that sophie will drive him to the dance because Cap didn't PLAN the dance. I think that the other kids will blame it on Zach or mr kasigi because they don't want it to be caps fault and they don't really have anyone else to blame. like when that girl says the halloween dance is C Average's thing and then everybody blames on mr kasigi and then zach because he made Cap "leave" so he didn't plan the dance

I agree with you Sarah. Cap didn't actually plan the dance, he just wrote the checks while the other kids did all the organizing and getting the actual things for the party. -Sarah W
ReplyDeleteI still think that Cap will get to the dance somehow because on page 180 he says,"Okay,I knew nothing about dances and I had planned zero percent of this one,but I should be there." From reading the rest of the book I know Cap does what he sets his mind on,and so if he wants to go to the dance,he will.
ReplyDeleteI think Cap changes everything around him. like the dead bird first it was in his locker than it was R.I.P in a garden. He also changed Naomi and the rest of the crew except zach ( who just didn't want to be changes ) and he changed sophie physicly (driving) and mentaly. I think Cap is like stargirl because they are both new and are not populare, than populare except than star girl wants to be like everyone else. I think cap i s like a lot of characters in the jerry spinelly because that is what he likes to write about, like zincoff, stargirl and ( the guy ink milkweed although he doesn't have a name). I don't know about gordan korman because I don't read any of his books. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
